Up to 50 million Facebook accounts are believed to have been compromised by an attack that gave hackers the ability to take over users’ accounts. The breach was discovered by Facebook engineers on Tuesday 25 September & patched on Thursday 27th, however no statement was forthcoming until today, although the Social Giant has said that users whose accounts were affected have been notified directly.
